Pseudowhorl

An apparent whorl of leaves that, when examined more closely, is seen to consist of a group of spirally (or rarely oppositely) arranged leaves separated by very short internodes, with much longer internodes separating it from the previous pseudowhorl. Azaleas (Rhododendron) are a common example.
