Description: Originally from southern Japan, this fir grows to a height of up to 100 ft (30 m). Its 1 in (25 mm) leaves are a shiny deep green, and it bears brown egg-shaped cones, up to 6 in (15 cm) long. It is susceptible to spring frost damage. ZONES 6?9.

Growth Habit: Conical, lower branches horizontal, upper ascending
