Arenga pinnata

Description: One of the largest species, Arenga pinnata is always single-trunked. It has been cultivated for so long in Southeast Asia that its wild origin is uncertain, but most likely it comes from far eastern India or Myanmar. It grows to about 60 ft (18 m)

Growth Habit: Single trunked with crown of fronds

Comments: Dies after completing the fruiting cycle; source of palm sugar
