too late to plant from seed?
hi all,

we just bought a house and wanted to grow some veggies. we live in toronto and its already july 26... is it too late to plant anything from seed? i've tried to find little plants but to no avail... only herbs are left. is it too late to plant things like cauliflower, broccolli, radishes and squash from seed?? i read that these are good late summer harvest veggies... any help would be great! thanks!

Re: too late to plant from seed?
You can keep planting a few radishes constantly and will want to as they are ready in about 5 weeks, squash may grow quickly enough if you're sheltered and we have a long fall and you fertilize well - I'd focus on small leafy veggies - spinach and lettuces (try all the fun different kinds) try some onion sets for a quick payback - try the bigger garden centers for some leafy dying left over tomatoes and plant them deep with lots of manure. Good luck!
