Student Gardener Project
I'm going to be living in a townhouse on residence at UofT this summer, and I'm really excited about having my own veggie patch! I can't use the soil here as it is very sandy, but I'm going to make raised boxes and bring in soil. I want to plant some tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, peas, strawberries, cucumbers, and chives. I am having trouble knowing when to start planting! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Student Gardener Project
A good guideline to follow for planting is normally around mid to end of May, Victoria Day weekend is the popular time for people to swarm garden centers. Before that, you can do all the soil preparation. However, if this crazy winter weather keeps up, we won't be planting til sometime in August this year!
