Japanese Maples - anything at all

Hello all

I am in Tokyo now and would love to get some Japanese maples for my parents garden in Port Hope. They are everywhere here but  I do not recall seeing them in Ontario. Each tme my parents visit, the seem to really enjoy looking at the tree.

Does anyone know about anything about them?

My initial questions are fairly basic:

1) Can they survive the Canadian winters?

2) Do they require much maintanance?

3) Can you recommend a dealer who can deliver and plant in my parents garder?

I would also like to know if anyone is familiar with the Momiji and the Kaede. In English these may all be lumped together as Japanese maple.  However, the leaf of the Momiji is much more delicate than the kaede. It is both smaller and thinner and in the fall (right now) turn to a stunning red.

Here are pictures of the momiji:,GGLG:2006-06,GGLG:en&q=%E7%B4%85%E8%91%89%E3%80%80%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi">,GGLG:2006-06,GGLG:en&q=%E7%B4%85%E8%91%89%E3%80%80%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi">,GGLG:2006-06,GGLG:en&q=%E7%B4%85%E8%91%89%E3%80%80%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi

and here is the kaede:;_ylt=A0Je5qiQIi9HAEoBszuJzbkF?p=%E6%A5%93+%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F%E3%80%80%E8%91%89&ei=UTF-8&fr=slv8-yga&x=wrt&js=1&ni=21">;_ylt=A0Je5qiQIi9HAEoBszuJzbkF?p=%E6%A5%93+%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F%E3%80%80%E8%91%89&ei=UTF-8&fr=slv8-yga&x=wrt&js=1&ni=21">;_ylt=A0Je5qiQIi9HAEoBszuJzbkF?p=%E6%A5%93+%E5%86%99%E7%9C%9F%E3%80%80%E8%91%89&ei=UTF-8&fr=slv8-yga&x=wrt&js=1&ni=21

Any information at all would be appreciated. If it is at all feasable, I would love to get one for my parents garden.

Thank you very much.
